US President Donald Trump announced the complete withdrawal of American forces from Iraq by 2026, ending Operation Inherent Resolve, which began in 2003 to combat ISIS. 

Trump hailed the departure as a success and praised Iraq's new Prime Minister. 

Iran and its allies viewed the US exit as a strategic victory, increasing their influence in Iraq. However, concerns persist over Iraq's readiness for self-security, potential ISIS resurgence, and power struggles between Baghdad, pro-Iranian militias, and residual terrorist threats.
