A railroad worker has been killed after being struck by a train overnight in Montreal, police say.

Montreal police (SPVM) say the incident happened on September 12 at around 3 a.m. near De Lorimier Avenue and Notre-Dame Street in the city’s Ville-Marie borough, near the Jacques-Cartier bridge.

“According to initial reports, the victim was a railroad employee who was working on the tracks when a train began moving,” said Manuel Couture, a police spokesperson.
