Residents evacuated after early morning fire in Summerside

Residents of a mixed-use building on Water Street East in Summerside were evacuated early morning of September 6 following a fire reported around 2 a.m.

Emergency crews brought the blaze under control within 45 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The building houses 10 to 12 residential units on the upper floors and commercial space on the ground floor.

The Canadian Red Cross is providing emergency housing for displaced residents.
