Newly re-elected Gatineau mayor passes budget
20-Dec-2025.
Gatineau’s newly elected council passed a budget on Dec 18 to tighten the city’s economic belt and limit residential property tax increases to three per cent.
"This is one of the lowest tax increases among major cities in Quebec," Mayor Maude Marquis-Bissonnette said.
In comparison, residential property taxes will rise 3.4 and 4.3 per cent in Montreal and Laval respectively.
"This demonstrates that it is a solid, well-thought-out and forward-looking budget," Marquis-Bissonnette added.
