Health Minister assures appropriate action over dress controversy: Rishad Bathiudeen

Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa has assured All Ceylon Makkal Congress leader and Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen that appropriate action will be taken regarding the controversy surrounding the attire of newly appointed employees at the Kalmunai North Base Hospital.

A special telephone conversation took place between Minister Nalinda Jayatissa and Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen on August 15 in this regard.

During the conversation, Bathiudeen brought to the Minister’s attention the difficulties and practical issues faced by employees in connection with the controversy over the attire of Muslim women. He also stressed the need for urgent action to resolve the issue.

In response, Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa assured Rishad Bathiudeen that necessary action would be taken regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen had earlier held a telephone conversation with the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr Sugunan, regarding the issue.
