Weerasekara accuses academic of contempt of court over comments on verdict

Former minister Sarath Weerasekara has alleged that comments by Professor Nirmal Devasiri on the verdict in the murder case of former MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala amount to contempt of court.

He said the High Court decision followed a three-year investigation based on forensic and witness evidence. He also blamed those who incited protests for violence and called for legal action against them.
