VD Satheesan to take oath as Kerala Chief Minister on May 18

Congress leader V D Satheesan was unanimously elected as the Chief Minister of Kerala on May 18 following the United Democratic Front's decisive electoral victory, ending a decade of Left rule. 

The Congress Legislature Party meeting, supported by senior leaders and alliance partners, formalized his leadership. Satheesan emphasized fulfilling campaign promises, improving living standards, and working collaboratively with party and alliance members. 

The government formation process involved extensive consultations, with cabinet selections to be finalized by party leadership.
