UN Agencies Coordinate Support for Sri Lanka’s Recovery

UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Marc-André Franche, stated that the United Nations is coordinating with its agencies to support national rescue and immediate recovery efforts alongside Sri Lankan authorities.

UNDP Resident Representative Azusa Kubota warned, in a post on her official X page, against the spread of misinformation during this crisis and encouraged sharing only verified information from credible sources. 

She also praised the government’s efforts to counter false information about weather conditions, describing it as an important step to ensure public safety.
