The Tirupati police in Andhra Pradesh have heightened security following terrorist bomb threats targeting the city.

Authorities have put bomb disposal teams on alert and conducted inspections across several locations after receiving two suspicious mails.

The threatening mails alleged a conspiracy involving Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and former Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants based in Tamil Nadu, claiming that RDX explosives could be detonated in four areas of Tirupati.

Police carried out thorough checks at the RTC bus stand, Srinivasam, Vishnu Niwasam, Kapilatheertham, and the Govindarajula Swamy temple. Security personnel also inspected the judges’ residential complex and surrounding court areas to ensure safety.
