Tilvin Silva meets Kerala Chief Minister

A delegation of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) led by its General Secretary Tilvin Silva, currently on an official visit to India, met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on 12 February to discuss strengthening tourism development and cultural ties.
The delegation also visited the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre of ISRO and the Vizhinjam Port, gaining first-hand exposure to India’s progress in science, technology and the blue economy.
According to a post on the official X platform of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, discussions focused on enhancing tourism and cultural cooperation. The delegation also learned about India’s
advancements in science, technology and the blue economy during their visits.
Earlier, the delegation led by Tilvin Silva paid a courtesy call on Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. Welcoming the delegation, he expressed confidence that India–Sri Lanka relations had strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the meeting would give new momentum to the long-standing historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
Tilvin Silva highlighted that policy-driven Gujarat has specialized policies across multiple sectors from which Sri Lanka could benefit. He emphasized the need for coordination between the Gujarat State Government and Sri Lanka on matters of mutual interest.
The meeting also discussed strategies to encourage more tourists from Gujarat to visit Sri Lanka. Tilvin Silva expressed gratitude for India’s continued support to Sri Lanka during critical periods, including infrastructure development.
