"Those who wish to level allegations regarding my assets may lodge complaints with the Commission. I have submitted all documents related to my assets and liabilities to the Commission. I have hidden nothing," said Vasantha Samarasinghe, Minister of Trade, Food Security, and Cooperative Development.

He made this statement to the media on September 18 in Colombo, following his participation in an event.

The Minister further stated:

"In accordance with the law, I myself submitted documents relating to my assets and liabilities to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. Nobody else submitted these documents on my behalf.

The opposition has now taken up details of my assets for their political campaigns. I have long been involved in business activities, and I also possess inherited property.

If anyone wishes to raise allegations about my assets, let them file complaints with the Commission. I accumulated these assets lawfully.

Those who failed to submit details of their assets and liabilities until now are the ones who are unsettled. Instead of making allegations through the media, I urge the opposition to lodge their complaints with the Commission."
