Strengthening Sri Lanka–Vietnam Relations Is Essential: Vietnamese Ambassador

Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Trinh Thi Tam, emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Vietnam through mutual trust and shared development goals.
This was stated during a recent meeting with Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. Discussions covered diplomatic relations, ongoing and future development projects, healthcare cooperation, pharmaceutical needs, agriculture, tourism, women and child affairs, investment promotion, and media and communication sectors.
The Ambassador also highlighted Vietnam’s experience in trade, media, and communication, and discussed how Vietnam’s development successes could be effectively applied in Sri Lanka.
Minister Jayatissa recalled the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two countries and expressed hope for further strengthening political, diplomatic, and economic ties. The Ambassador praised Sri
Lanka’s recent progress and noted that the two nations have maintained strong relations for 55 years since establishing diplomatic ties in 1970.
