Seven Foreign Diplomats Donate Funds to Sri Lanka

Seven foreign diplomats assigned to Sri Lanka set aside a portion of their personal salaries and collectively donated 3.6 million rupees to help people affected by the disastrous floods and landslides caused by Cyclone.
The donation was handed over to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath.
The cyclone caused severe floods and landslides, killing hundreds and leaving hundreds of thousands displaced and without livelihoods. Multiple international governments, NGOs and private entities have been providing assistance.
The diplomats handed over the donation on Dec 11. Those who contributed were: Indonesian Ambassador Dewi Krisnina Tobing; Korean Ambassador Lee Myon; Swiss Ambassador Siri Volr;
Maldivian High Commissioner Masood Imad; Palestinian Ambassador Ihab M. Khalil; Oman Embassy’s officer for internal affairs Said Al Harbi; and the Italian Embassy’s deputy internal affairs officer Alberto Arzidiacono.
