Send Ten More Police Officers to London to Probe Namal’s Education; Says MP Samara Sampath

MP Samara Sampath Dissanayake stated that while a police team had already travelled to London at a cost of 32 million rupees to investigate former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s trip that cost 16 million rupees, this was not enough. He argued that another 10 police officers should be sent to London to investigate Namal Rajapaksa’s law degree.

Speaking at the anti-government rally in Nugegoda on November 21, he further said:

Hundreds of people have gathered today despite many challenges, in opposition to the government’s repression and corruption. We are not here to create leaders, but when the right moment comes, we will place a capable leader in the President’s chair—regardless of party.

The President read the Budget speech for one hour and then spent another hour criticizing Namal Rajapaksa. I had to ask Namal to leave the chamber; if not, the foreign diplomats present might have fainted.

The President’s speech would have gone on until 10 p.m.

I began my political journey from prison, and I will not abandon it. The President says he will govern in 2028, but I assure you this dream will never come true. Advanced Level examinations were not held in Tangalle, yet loudspeakers for our rally were removed citing those exams.

You cannot survive in politics by acting like this. Those swept away in the political “tsunami” are the 159 NPP MPs today. They are still searching for Namal’s degree certificate while sending another five officers to London to investigate Ranil.

Ranil’s matter cost 16 million; this trip cost 32 million. Next, send ten police officers to verify Namal Rajapaksa’s certificate. Anand Vijayapala calls himself a police officer, but no police station has record of him working there; the Health Minister claims to be a doctor, but there is no hospital where he served.

This government is full of fake doctors, fake lawyers, and fake police officers. Before searching for Namal’s certificates, reveal your own qualifications. Those who threatened to send us in blue buses will be sent in red buses when we come to power.
