Scan Report Submitted on Exhumation of Human Remains in Sampur

An assessment report has been submitted to determine the estimated cost of scanning to verify whether more human remains are present in the land at Sampur where skeletal remains have already been found.

The case relating to the recovery of human remains in Sampur was taken up on August 27 before Muttur Magistrate Thasneem Fowsan.

The estimated cost for scanning, to be carried out using equipment from the Department of Archaeology, was submitted to the Muttur Magistrate Court on August 26 by Sampur Police, with signatures from the Department of Archaeology, the Judicial Medical Officer, Sampur Police, and the Office on Missing Persons.

The estimated cost report will be forwarded to the Provincial High Court along with the magistrate’s order. Further action will be taken with the approval of the Provincial Court.
