Revanth Reddy's Hindu deities remark stirs row
04-Dec-2025.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has come under political fire after he allegedly mocked the existence of multiple Hindu deities, with the opposition BJP and the BRS demanding an immediate apology.
Speaking at an event, Reddy questioned the multiplicity of gods in Hindu tradition and even went on to say that Hanuman was the god of the unmarried.
"How many gods do Hindus believe in? Are there three crore? Why do so many exist? There is one god for those who are unmarried — Hanuman. There is another god for those who marry twice. And there is yet another god for those who drink alcohol. For hen sacrifice, there is one; for dal and rice, there is one. Each group has its own god," Reddy said.
