Police question journalist, seize phone in alleged TVK MLA bribery case

Chennai Police investigated a bribery attempt involving Rs 35 crore aimed at swaying MLA N Elaiyaraja to vote against the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam during a no-confidence motion. 

They questioned Vijayan, a senior journalist, and seized his phone due to his contacts with the accused Thirunavukkarasu, linked to the 'Meghalaya Project' conspiracy targeting 15 legislators. The Chennai Press Club condemned the police action as intimidation, urging government intervention to protect journalistic freedom amid the ongoing probe.
