PM Modi meets India's CWG medallists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India's Commonwealth Games 2026 medallists, praising their historic performances and urging support for sports culture. Boxing led India's medal tally with 10 medals, including seven golds, especially from women. 

Judo and weightlifting also achieved historic success, with Mirabai Chanu winning her third consecutive gold. Athletics and para athletes made significant contributions, with Gulveer Singh and Sharmila Dhankar making history. 

India's fourth-place finish highlighted its expanding sporting depth beyond traditional disciplines, reflecting a growing culture of athletic excellence.
