Pakistan Dispatches Ship Carrying 200 Tons of Relief Supplies

As previously announced, a ship carrying 200 tons of emergency relief supplies departed Islamabad on Dec 3. Additionally, a 47-member specialist team was flown to Sri Lanka to assist in search-and-rescue operations.
Cyclone has caused widespread flooding and landslides, killing hundreds and displacing hundreds of thousands. Many nations have extended assistance, including Pakistan, which continues to send relief and humanitarian aid in phases.
Under instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a Pakistan Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying 6.5 tons of essential relief items and the 47-member rescue team departed on Dec 3.
The previously announced ship carrying 200 tons of relief goods also left Islamabad on Dec 3.
Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority has arranged for additional relief goods to be transported via SriLankan Airlines flights operating between Colombo and Lahore.
Items provided include tents, blankets, life jackets, small boats, mats, mosquito nets, infant formula, ready-to-eat food, and essential medicines.
