Over Rs. 200 Crore Worth of Illegally Acquired Assets Seized: Police Spokesman

During special operations against illegal activities, police have seized over Rs. 200 crore worth of gold, vehicles, houses, and land illegally accumulated by arrested suspects, said Police Spokesman ASP F.U. Woodler.

He made this statement during a media briefing at the Department of Government Information on October 28, announcing cabinet decisions.

He further said that since January this year, more than 6.2 million people have been subjected to inspections, leading to the arrest of 5,464 individuals involved in various crimes. Additionally, 95,000 suspects with outstanding warrants have been arrested and prosecuted.

Following investigations, assets illegally acquired by these suspects were seized. Between 2024 and 2025, 354 pounds of gold valued at Rs. 6 crore, 72 vehicles worth Rs. 62 crore, houses and lands valued at Rs. 69 crore, and Rs. 67 lakh in cash have been confiscated.

All these assets are being processed for confiscation under the Proceeds of Crime Act, he said.
