Opposition Leader Sajith congratulates Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on beginning a new chapter for the State.

Posting on his official X account, Premadasa stated that the Chief Minister had spoken of a new era based on social justice and secularism. He noted that history has shown societies built only on hatred and old wounds eventually become isolated, while societies built on justice and coexistence create the kind of future people truly wish to live in.

He further said the world is already filled with divisions, and people across the region, beyond language, religion, or identity, genuinely aspire for social progress, justice, and stability. He added that what unites people is far greater than what divides them.

Premadasa expressed hope that this new chapter would bring progress, compassion, and the ability to create understanding where others had previously created divisions.
