Vimal Weerawansa, Leader of the National Freedom Front, claimed that of the three Iranian vessels attending a naval exhibition in India, one was attacked, and the status of another remains unknown. 

Despite a request to dock at Colombo Port, the government allegedly delayed permission due to US pressure.

He emphasized that Iran has historically supplied arms to Sri Lanka during domestic conflicts, highlighting the strategic importance of these vessels and the challenges posed by US diplomatic influence.
