No Place in SJB for Anyone Linked to Drugs, Says Sajith Premadasa

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa reaffirmed that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and that anyone connected to drug-related crimes has no place in the party.

Speaking during the parliamentary debate on drug prevention, he called for Singapore-style punishments for major drug traffickers and urged the President to take firm legal action against organised drug networks. He also stressed that those responsible for past murders of journalists and other high-profile crimes must be brought to justice. Premadasa further criticised delays in judicial appointments, restrictions on parliamentary debate, and the government's failure to repeal controversial security laws despite repeated promises.
