The Disaster Management Centre reports that the number of fatalities caused by adverse weather-related incidents has risen to nine.
Director Pradeep Kodippili stated that continuous rainfall has resulted in widespread flooding of roads in many areas, and that rockfalls have been reported in several locations.
The National Building Research Organisation announced that the landslide warning issued for 10 districts will remain in effect.
The warnings apply to the districts of Kandy, Badulla, Colombo, Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kegalle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura.
