MP Ravikaran Extends Birthday Greetings to LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran

Vanni District MP Durairasa Ravikaran paid tribute in Parliament to Velupillai Prabhakaran, noting that under his leadership, the Tamil homeland flourished in fisheries and agriculture, with a drug-free and secure environment. 

Ravikaran described Prabhakaran as a revered leader among Tamils.

Speaking during a committee discussion on the 2026 budget allocations for the Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources, Marine Resources, Science and Technology, and Digital Economy on November 26, he said that under Prabhakaran’s administration, coastal and agricultural livelihoods prospered, fishermen operated safely, and people lived freely and securely, including women at night. 

Hence, the Tamil community honors Prabhakaran as a divinely respected leader, and his rule is celebrated as a “Sangam-era” period.
