Meeting with a member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party

Member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Wang Junzheng, stated that China will continue assisting Sri Lanka and fully support its economic and infrastructure development. 

He emphasized implementing approved development projects starting next year.

During his two-day official visit, Wang Junzheng met JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva and party leaders at the JVP headquarters on Dec 25.

Discussions covered long-standing relations between the CCP and JVP, Sri Lanka’s political situation, and cooperation projects under agreements signed during President Anura Dissanayake’s visit to China.

Tilvin Silva expressed gratitude for China’s assistance following Cyclone Ditwah. Wang confirmed continued support and noted successful completion of recent CCP plenary sessions.

The meeting also discussed China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan and strengthening CCP–JVP cooperation in the coming year.
