Mahinda Kahandagama Remanded Until October 26

Mahinda Kahandagama, a former Colombo Municipal Council member representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), has been remanded until October 26.

The order was issued when he was produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.

He was arrested during a raid conducted following an extensive investigation based on confidential information received by the Director of the Colombo Central Criminal Investigation Division.

Ice, a form of crystal methamphetamine, was allegedly recovered from him at the time of his arrest. Investigators also reportedly discovered video footage showing him in the company of drug traffickers during subsequent inquiries.

Meanwhile, the court imposed a fine of Rs. 15,000 on another person arrested in connection with the incident.
