Kumar Sanu files defamation suit against ex-wife

Bollywood playback singer Sanu Kumar Bhattacharjee, popularly known as Kumar Sanu, has filed a defamation suit against his former wife, seeking an apology and monetary compensation of Rs 50 crore for alleged damage to his reputation.

The suit, filed through advocate Sana Raees Khan, also seeks an order restraining his former wife, Rita Bhattacharya, from making any statements or posts that are defamatory toward Sanu and his family. In addition, it requests directions to Sanu’s ex-wife Rita and other social media platforms, including Meta, to remove all allegedly defamatory content that has already been published on their sites.

Reportedly, Rita Bhattacharya gave interviews to paparazzi platforms such as Viral Bhayani and Film Window, in which she alleged that Kumar Sanu mistreated her during her pregnancy, claiming that he deprived her of food, confined her to the kitchen, and denied her access to medical care.
