Invitation for Participation in UNP Convention Extended to UNM

The United People’s Power Parliamentarian Nalin Bandara announced that an invitation has been received for participation in the United National Party conference. 

The party’s General Secretary will attend the conference on behalf of the United People’s Power.

It was further noted that the United National Party has decided not to revoke the membership of individuals who left to join other parties, nor take disciplinary action against those already under consideration. 

While this is a positive development, membership is currently held in the United People’s Power, so direct membership in the United National Party is not possible. 

Nonetheless, both parties are expected to cooperate and discussions on collaboration are ongoing.

There is positive progress in the cordial interactions between United National Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and United People’s Power leader Sajith Premadasa. 

Decisions regarding joint electoral contests or alliances will be made closer to upcoming elections.
