Inter-University Debate Competition to Mark 75th Anniversary of Colombo Plan

A special inter-university debate competition aimed at discussing the future of regional cooperation and human capital development will be held in Colombo on June 24.

The event is being organised under the theme, "The Colombo Plan and Human Capital Development: Revitalising South-South Cooperation in a Changing Global Environment", to mark the 75th anniversary of the Colombo Plan.

The competition will take place at the auditorium of the University Grants Commission in Ward Place, Colombo 7.

Students from universities across the country are expected to participate in the event, which is jointly organised by the Colombo Plan and the University Grants Commission.

Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya is expected to attend as the chief guest.

Registration will commence at 8.00 a.m., and participants have been requested to be seated by 8.15 a.m.
