Inquiry Begins Against MP S. Sritharan

Investigations have commenced at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) regarding a complaint filed against Tamil National Alliance MP Sivagnanam Sritharan.

As part of the inquiry, civil society activist Sanjeewa Mahawatte, who lodged the complaint, provided a statement on November 16 for six hours. The complaint alleges that the MP had accumulated assets disproportionate to his declared income.

MP Sritharan has denied the allegations and stated that he is prepared to face the inquiry.
