India will remain a trusted partner of Sri Lanka, Jaishankar tells Tilvin Silva

India will continue to support Sri Lanka's progress and prosperity as a trusted partner, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated.

He said his meeting with Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva had further strengthened the deep friendship between the two countries.

A delegation led by Tilvin Silva, who is currently visiting India, met Jaishankar on October 1 for bilateral discussions.

Commenting on the meeting in a post on his official X account, Jaishankar said he was pleased to meet Tilvin Silva and his delegation.

He stated that the discussions had taken place in the spirit of further strengthening the deep and enduring friendship between Sri Lanka and India.

He added that India would continue to support Sri Lanka's progress and prosperity as a trusted partner.
