Indian aid to Sri Lanka is characterized as responsible and akin to the care of a family member. The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, emphasized India’s complete dedication to Sri Lanka’s overall development.

The Indian Tamil community in Sri Lanka serves as a living bridge between the two countries. The High Commissioner expressed pride that enhancing, strengthening, and securing development for every member of this community is a key goal.

During the distribution of housing documentation to 2,056 beneficiaries in Bandarawela on October 12, he remarked that the presence of President Anuragumar Dissanayake underscores the strong, unshakable, and special ties between India and Sri Lanka.

The shared commitment reflects India’s ongoing pledge to development, reaffirmed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.

The Indian housing program is seen as bringing light to the lives of countless hill country families, and joint efforts of the governments of India and Sri Lanka are expected to ensure prosperity for these communities.
