India ready to continue support to strengthen disaster relief efforts – Indian Minister

Indian Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel affirmed India’s continued support for Sri Lanka’s post-disaster recovery efforts following Cyclone “Thithva.”

She made this statement during a meeting with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, in New Delhi, held alongside the Second WHO Global Traditional Medicine Summit.

Discussions covered ongoing diplomatic and health cooperation and steps to further strengthen bilateral relations. Patel emphasized Sri Lanka’s importance in India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy.

Minister Jayatissa thanked India for its support during Sri Lanka’s emergency situation and requested continued assistance in rebuilding and strengthening healthcare and IT systems.
