The Supreme Court of India, under its Samadhan Samaroh-2026 initiative, has referred sensitive religious disputes like the Gyanvapi mosque-temple case and the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute to Special Lok Adalats to encourage dialogue and negotiated settlements.

While the Gyanvapi case is set for conciliation, initial efforts in Mathura failed due to lack of Muslim representation. The initiative aims to foster participative justice and reduce prolonged litigation by facilitating amicable resolutions in high-profile, long-pending religious conflicts.
