Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Jan 20 walked out of the assembly session as he declined to deliver an address prepared by the MK Stalin-led DMK government in a fresh row.
A video showed him exiting the building and boarding his car before leaving. The Lok Bhavan later gave a 13-point explanation for the walkout, saying the national anthem was insulted, and alleged the speech contained various "inaccuracies" and "unsubstantiated claims".
"The speech contains numerous unsubstantiated claims and misleading statements. Several crucial issues troubling the people are ignored," the statement read, adding, "(The) national anthem is yet again insulted and the Fundamental Constitutional Duty disregarded."
The state assembly session started with the Tamil anthem.
