Government Launches Financial Relief Distribution

“An initial 10 billion rupees has been allocated to provide financial relief to those affected by the disaster. From today, relief will be distributed through all Divisional Secretariats,” said the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs.

He accused the opposition of doing opportunistic politics during a national tragedy and urged them not to spread false claims.

He added:

“This is one of the worst national disasters. While the armed forces, police, and citizens are working to rescue people, the opposition is busy with politics. Since the 25th, strong safety measures have been 

implemented.

Troops and police worked selflessly. Relief measures have been taken.

Although the opposition claims it will cooperate, they offer none and instead spread false allegations.”
