GCE (A/L) Exams Suspended

Considering the severe impact caused by adverse weather conditions, all GCE (A/L) exams and other competitive exams have been temporarily suspended.
Additionally, preschools have been announced as closed, and the Ministry of Education has advised granting leave to international schools.
The Ministry of Public Administration has also announced a special leave for all government offices on November 28.
GCE (A/L) examinations that were scheduled over the past three days have been postponed. Examinations originally planned for these three days will now be held on December 7, 8, and 9, according to the Examinations Commissioner, Nayagam A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage.
However, other competitive exams will proceed as previously scheduled starting Monday, and only the dates for exams originally planned during the past three days have been adjusted.
The Examinations Commissioner further stated that subsequent measures will be taken based on evolving weather conditions.
Some competitive exams originally planned for this weekend have also been postponed.
The Department of Examinations announced the postponement of the Grade 1, Class 3 recruitment exam for clerical services and the first non-technical (Grade 2) sports trainer proficiency test for Class 3 under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training.
These exams are now scheduled for December 13 and 14.
Furthermore, the Sri Lanka Southeast University’s external degree programs and the vocational training institute have postponed the 2022–2023 Artmani (General) external degree entrance examination, which was scheduled for on November 29.
The National Secretariat for Early Childhood Development has announced that all preschools and early childhood development centers will remain closed nationwide from November 28 until adverse weather conditions subside.
