Funds Allocated to Improve Infrastructure in Provincial Schools; Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya

Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has stated that necessary financial allocations have been provided to all provinces to improve infrastructure facilities in provincial schools and urged that the funds be utilized properly for school development activities.

Speaking at an event held in the Wellawaya area on March 2, she further stated that requests should be submitted to address existing deficiencies in schools.

Measures are being taken to upgrade 50 vocational training institutions across all 25 districts with modern courses, in order to provide appropriate recognition to vocational education.

She also stated that steps are being taken to introduce new education reforms for Grade 6 beginning in 2027, and that arrangements will be made to entrust the printing of new textbooks to the Publications Department of the Ministry of Education.
