Four Killed, 24 Injured in Private Bus Accident at Kathuruwela

A fatal accident occurred when a private bus traveling from Kathuruwela to Colombo collided with another stationary private bus that had stopped to pick up passengers.

The crash injured 28 passengers, who were rushed to the Kurunegala Hospital for treatment.

Four victims — three men and one woman — succumbed to their injuries, police confirmed.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the bus coming from behind had been speeding, leading to the collision.

The bodies of the deceased are kept at the Kurunegala Hospital mortuary, and police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
