Former State Minister Prasanna Ranawira Granted Bail

The Gampaha High Court has granted bail to former State Minister Prasanna Ranawira, who had been arrested and remanded on charges of preparing forged documents and selling government-owned land.
The bail hearing for the application filed by Ranawira was taken up on September 30 under the leadership of Judge Nayana Senaviratne.
After reviewing the evidence, the judge released suspects Prasanna Ranawira and Sarath Edirisinghe under strict bail conditions.
Each was released on five sureties worth Rs. 500,000 each, along with a cash bail of Rs. 500,000.
Additionally, the court imposed a travel ban, ordered the surrender of their passports, and required them to report every Sunday to the Financial Crimes Division of the CID.
