Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi alleged that individuals affiliated with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) are connected to the Easter Sunday attacks, and claimed that the government is therefore unwilling to advance investigations into the incident.

He made these remarks on February 28 in response to media queries regarding the arrest of former Intelligence Chief Suresh Salley.

Kuttiarachchi stated that his party would not obstruct investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks and is prepared to cooperate fully. He described Salley as a capable officer and noted that he was arrested for investigative purposes.

He added that anyone summoned for questioning in connection with the attacks must comply, including members of his own party.
