EU Donates 1.8 Million Euros for Sri Lanka’s Disaster Relief

The European Union has donated 1.8 million euros to Sri Lanka, which has been devastated by natural disasters.
Floods and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah have killed hundreds and displaced hundreds of thousands. International governments, NGOs, and private companies continue providing various forms of support.
The EU has released 2.4 million euros for immediate assistance to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Thailand, which were severely affected by the flooding.
Out of that amount, 1.8 million euros has been allocated for emergency relief to victims in Sri Lanka, and another 500,000 euros has been provided through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ emergency fund.
