Enhanced Security Measures for Religious Sites During Festive Season

Police Media Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler stated that a special security plan will be implemented at religious places of worship during the upcoming festive season, with a large number of additional police officers deployed.

He said police officers in civilian attire and intelligence officers will be involved, with the support of the armed forces. Special plans have already been prepared to ensure a safe festive period.

All headquarters police inspectors and officers-in-charge will meet religious leaders in their respective areas to arrange security for upcoming religious events.

The public is requested to remain vigilant and inform nearby police officers of any suspicious persons, groups, or objects.

In the Western Province alone, over 2,500 additional police officers have been deployed for this operation.
