Emergency Law Extension Passed by Majority of 104 Votes

Parliament approved the extension of Emergency Regulations by a majority of 104 votes following the debate on February 6.

In the electronic vote, 106 members voted in favour and two voted against. The main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya abstained while recording its protest. 

MPs Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam and Selvam Adaikalanathan voted against the motion.
