Drug trafficker “Beliatta Sanaa” and boat owner arrested

Police have arrested notorious drug dealer “Beliatta Sanaa” and the owner of a boat allegedly used to smuggle drugs into the country.
On September 22, police seized three lorries in Tangalle and Kolonnawa carrying over 700 kg of narcotics (ice and heroin).
Investigations revealed that the drugs were brought in by sea. Police conducted a special raid based on intelligence and arrested suspects.
The haul is believed to belong to fugitive drug kingpin Unaguruwela Santha, who is hiding abroad.
Notably, two bodies were found in a house in Tangalle on 22-09-2025, and weapons including an R-56 rifle and five revolvers were seized.
