Driver’s licence computer system down

Due to the disruption of the Motor Traffic Department’s driver’s licence computer system, services such as endorsements, new licence applications and renewals will not be available today (Dec 1) at the Werahera main office and digital district offices.

The written examinations cancelled on November 27 and November 29 due to system failure and adverse weather will be held on December 8 and 9.

Though the system is down, officers are working to restore it. Services such as operational tests, temporary licence extensions and document verification will still be provided.

Vehicle registration and ownership transfers are unaffected.

Those who had appointments on November 27, 28 and December 1 may visit on any working day within the next two weeks.
