Do Not Obstruct Easter Sunday Investigations, Archbishop’s House Urges
28-Feb-2026.
The Archbishop’s House in Colombo has called for non-interference in ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks, warning against attempts to politicize the process.
Speaking at a media briefing on 26 February, Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando stated that justice for victims remains paramount and that investigations have resumed in a structured manner under the current administration.
He emphasized that no individual is above the law and urged the public and media to allow independent investigations to proceed without political interference.
Attempts to mislead society by linking unrelated groups for political purposes, he warned, would constitute a grave injustice to victims and undermine national security.
