China Provides One Million Dollars and Additional Aid

The Chinese government has provided one million dollars in financial assistance and 10 million RMB worth of relief supplies to support Sri Lanka’s disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, the Chinese Red Cross has donated 100,000 dollars to the Sri Lanka Red Cross.

A statement from the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka noted that the severe floods and landslides caused by Cyclone  had resulted in significant loss of life and property, and expressed solidarity with the affected people.

The statement added that 10 million rupees have also been raised through a donation campaign organized jointly by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Overseas Chinese Association in Sri Lanka.

The Chinese government affirmed its readiness to continue assisting Sri Lankans in rebuilding their homes under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
