Australian Deputy Minister Julian Hill visits Sri Lanka

Australian Deputy Minister for Citizenship, Customs, and Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill, who is visiting Sri Lanka amid its severe disaster challenges, met representatives of partner organizations providing assistance after Cyclone Ditwah.
Multiple international entities have been helping Sri Lanka cope with the devastation.
Australia initially provided 1 million AUD through partner agencies for emergency relief, followed by an additional 2.5 million AUD as second-phase support.
During his meetings Dec 11, Julian Hill also spoke with UNFPA representatives about channeling part of the Australian funds toward supporting affected women and young people.
The Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka stated on X that Hill’s visit reflects Australia’s strong support for Sri Lanka during this extremely challenging period.
